Elliott Brood To Headline Spring Sessions Saturday

no thumb

We LOVE this band and are so stoked to see them perform acoustically in our very first Campfire Session this year at Spring Sessions Day 1: May 20, 2017 at Fort York: Garrison Common. Live music pairs best with cold beer, great food, and best friends – so please consider your May Two Four Weekend booked. Honestly, Elliott Brood playing a Campfire Session is exactly what cottage vibes are all about. We’ll supply the marshmallows.

Here’s a little bit more about Elliott Brood:

Elliott BROOD’s brand of fuzzed-up roots music makes for captivating, frenetic performances, which also translates on the band’s acclaimed records. Elliott BROOD has won a Juno, been nominated for Genie Award and hit the Polaris Short List. Their style has been called everything from ‘blackgrass’ to ‘death country,’ but those descriptions don’t capture the transcendent heights of their unique approach to roots music. Work and Love, their most recent and most personal album to date, is the sound of a grown-up band searching their hearts for all they’ve lost and gained. They are presently in studio working on the follow up  album Ghost Gardens which is set for release in the Fall of 2017.

The Trews To Headline Spring Sessions Sunday

The Sunday of the May Two Four Long Weekend has just become the greatest Sunday in the history of Long Weekends. Proud to announce that Canadian Rockers The Trews will headline the acoustic Campfire Sessions at Spring Sessions of Toronto’s Festival of Beer inside Fort York: Garrison Common.  Picture a glorious Spring day (glorious because most people don’t have to work the next day), surrounded by great brews, tasty food and cottage vibes. Add in some friends and maybe even meeting some new friends… then mix it all up with an acoustic rock show from The Trews and roasting a marshmallow or ten at the campfire. That’s Spring Sessions. That’s the Campfire Sessions. See you there!

Here’s a little bit more about The Trews:

The Trews are a Canadian hard rock band from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, consisting of vocalist Colin MacDonald, guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, bassist Jack Syperek, and drummer Gavin Maguire. The band is currently based in Toronto, Ontario.

The band started their career with the name One I’d Trouser, a line taken from a song in Monty Python’s “The Meaning Of Life”. They changed their name to Trouser, and eventually The Trews. They released an EP as One I’d Trouser, and a second EP under the name The Trews.

In the early summer of 2002 the band entered Rocksearch, a high-profile contest that is held annually by CHTZ-FM, a St. Catharines (Southern Ontario) rock radio station. Winning the contest would prove to be their big break as they soon landed a recording contract with Bumstead Productions Ltd.

Since then, the band has released five studio albums, three live albums, one compilation album, and five EPs. The Trews have also won a number of awards for their work, including: Seven East Coast Music Awards (ECMA), Three Independant Music Awards (US), and Five Juno Award nominations.
